If the definition of barbecue alone gets you excited and thinking about the cacophony of the crackling and sizzling of meat hitting searing metal then Hoodoo Brown Barbecue is the place for you. If not then suffer through the permanently smoky aroma and enjoy an awesome salad, sweet cornbread, or creamy mac n' cheese.

HooDoo Brown Barbeque: Country style, family style cookin' and smokin' up North. Specifically in Ridgedfield, Connecticut. If you pass by with your windows down the enticing odors fill your vehicle with an addicting, primitive desire for meat, meat, and more meat forcing you to subconsciously pull a U-turn and head into the minuscule parking lot. The parking lot is the only downside to this place because it is virtually non-existent. You need to stalk customers leaving to find a spot or risk parking in a neighboring business and risk getting towed. The food, however, makes up for any aggravation parking.

Not three months before, these BBQ heavy hitters took home first place at the CT Wing Fest so it was no surprise the wings we ordered impressed our taste buds. We decided on BBQ and Garlic Parmesan flavors.

The meat practically dripped off the bones on this full rack of ribs. Alone, these ribs had a rich smokey flavor but we were offered two sauces to dowse them in. One was a mustard seed sauce and the other I wasn't quite sure what it was but it was damn good anyway. The sauces weren't overly sweet like many barbecue sauces are and had great flavor on their own that didn't take away from the meats flavor but rather complimented it. My father and I, two famished individuals, each over 6 feet tall came in with equally large appetites and were not able to finish the shared rack. The sides of mac n' cheese and cornbread helped to fill our stomachs quickly.

Lena ordered a Smoked Turkey Salad and she was impressed. The turkey had great flavor and was moist. It comes on one of their baking pans and like the rest of their food was much bigger than it looked.
